Instead of buying a new phone, I did something wild to the phone I already have, and I’m working on a post about it for next week. Watch this space. If next week I give up and want my phone to be distracting again, I’ll write about squirrel digestion instead, or how to make your skin feel like a marshmallow.

Have you thought about getting a regular phone, without smart features, or do you have one already? Do you think your relationship with your phone is healthy? Or do you have an unhealthy relationship with something else, something unexpected? When I was in seventh grade, my friend wanted to give up something for Lent, and she decided to give up tucking her hair behind her ears. I think about that a lot. I know one person with a non-smart phone, and they have to call a taxi via a call center if they need a ride somewhere, since they can’t access maps or rideshare apps. That detail has always turned me off.

Last week I finally finished The Hounding and The Full Moon Coffee Shop, and this week I’m reading American Fantasy. Everyone whose heard of it falls into two camps: either they say it’s about boy bands, or they say it’s about cruises. Which are you?
