Ferret Manifesto
I don’t know where you folks are reading about ferrets, but a lot of times I end up on pet care websites.
The quality of what you find on pet care websites really varies, but I have never seen anything anywhere near as good as Petco’s article “What Kind of Ferret.” It includes something called “the ferret challenge” which is supposed to be a checklist to decide if you’re ready for a ferret, but has become my personal manifesto.
Am I the ferret? Is the ferret a metaphor? I’m not sure. All I know is there’s nothing in life that can’t be perfectly summed up by the ferret challenge.
Here are a few or my favorite lines, feel free to apply them to whatever you want.
A few of my recent odors:
Snail Mail Party and Sad Animal Facts plushies are on their way to you! (Zero paper cuts!) Thanks so much for the plushie photos, they make me so happy. There are a couple more sets available here if you want one. I like that if I had to draw how I would feel after spending a week in a box it would look exactly like this:
Boaz made a series of strange videos about local Pittsburgh businesses, and the last one features my favorite Pittsburgh store, Knotzland (it also features Kip).
Sad Animal Facts planners are still for sale at most bookstores, including bookshop.org which supports local independent bookstores. If you live outside the US you can check your favorite local bookshop, or order it from bookdepository.com which has free (but slow, maybe not in time for the new year) international shipping. Here are more interior photos, thanks to everyone who’s sent photos of their planners arriving! I’m very excited about 2021. We’re going to burn some sage.
