I can’t really draw cars but boy (girl??) I really tried. I guess Barbie drives a convertible, but have you seen a human woman driving one in real life? Convertible season ended this week, so I might not see another one for a long time.
Do you have a car, and do you like yours? Has anything changed your opinion of being a woman, or man, or person lately? Do you eat raisins? And have you looked through a telescope before?? Because it is wild.
In non-traffic news, Boaz has been giving after-hours tours of Phipps, and if you happen to live in Pittsburgh and be reading this, there are a few tickets left to his show Monday night. They’re usually sold out, so you should go.
This week I won an award from the Pennsylvania Library Association for How Do Meerkats Order Pizza and I got to give a talk at a conference and meet a thousand really nice librarians. I feel so lucky to live in a universe where libraries exist, and to have gotten to be in a room with so many librarians at once. If you go to the library this week you should walk or take public transit! Cars are the worst, even though I’m sure yours is cool.
I always feel like convertibles are a great idea until I'm in one. The WIND. My god. No thank you. But I bet I'd enjoy it if it topped out at like 15mph. I generally also dislike cars, though my body can no longer travel by bicycle, so I have to use than more than I'd like. I'm glad they are an option, but wish there were less of them and that they went slower.
Here in Northern Germany it‘s not so uncommon to see a woman driving a convertible. By the way I find the English word strange as we call them ‚Cabriolet‘ (seems like a French word) in German.
