I have to be careful who I tell this story to - a few people have heard it and thought that I didn’t know how to say pants before, and I somehow learned it from this interaction. They think that I ascertained the translation of the world pants by seeing someone wrap pants in tissue. That would have been cool put it’s not the point of the story.
I guess not everyone can step into the feeling of hearing your name called, so clearly, so confidently, by someone seems to absolutely know your name there is no misunderstanding. But actually there is a small misunderstanding, because they are talking about pants.
Does your name mean anything cool in another language? (Peter means fart in French, and one of my favorite Dutch names is Joke.) What pants do you need that you haven’t found yet? Or are you more of a needing books or needing pens or needing something else person.
Love, Pants
my name means beloved, which really isn't that interesting but everyone in my family's name means beloved, something that none of us knew until we were all adults.
We named my younger son Lev, which means heart in Hebrew, but also sounds like the word love. I truly adore how, every time I introduce him to someone from Israel, they reflexively lay their hand on their chest and sigh.
