Sparkly eyes and subtle haircuts
Three small things today. Or they might be medium-sized, it’s anyone’s guess.
1.
A few of my siblings and I do a dance video together every weekend over videochat. None of us are great (or even decent) dancers and it’s pretty casual. Last week one of my sisters spent the first few minutes of the dance video just staring at her screen, watching us dance, and I didn’t think too much of it at first.
After ten minutes of her watching us dance, it seemed too late to pause and say something, and fifteen minutes in I wanted to stop and say something, but then the moment passed. By the end of the video it honestly seemed completely normal that she had just been watching us dance for thirty minutes.
It turned out she had been dancing, her video was just frozen.
2.
On a video call for work, someone who was presenting accidentally turned on a filter that made her eyes bigger and sparklier. She didn’t know how to turn it off, so her eyes were sparkly the whole meeting.
I thought I would get used to it, but sparkly eyes are harder to get used to than I expected. It kept on surprising me.
3.
Kip stepped in about 200 spiky burrs on a walk. I combed most of them out but there were also a few around his mouth I had to cut out with scissors. He has so much hair that it’s barely noticeable, I think it looks fine.
Now Boaz likes to imagine what it would be like if for some reason Kip had to cut out some of my hair, an amount that Kip considered barely noticeable and fine-looking.
Hopefully it never happens.
A few updates:
I had a comic in the New York Times on Sunday! Here’s a link: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/08/books/the-unexpected-joys-of-little-free-libraries.html
Plushies are arriving in Canada and Europe! Thanks so much to everyone who’s been so incredibly patient. If yours haven’t arrived yet and the tracking info doesn’t make sense, send me an email and I can help.
