Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed today people are frogs and characters from Arthur. It’s just been one of those weeks where it maybe seems like people should be frogs and Arthur characters.
Next week is a post just for paid subscribers, with some snail mail for paid subscribers too. If you’re not a paid subscriber yet but want to be, you can sign up here:
Are you friendly by dog standards, or human standards, or both standards? I’m not a biter, but I’m not always a hugger either — I like to know the person’s name first. Kip’s always been the perfect amount of friendly to me, but it’s hard to explain to strangers. When someone asks I usually just say “Yes!” and then when he ambles off before they can pet him they just assume they smell bad or aren’t interesting.
If you want a dog that is friendly in ALL the ways, I walked Kim Possible this week and she’s very very very sweet.
Do you ever worry that one day you’ll suddenly forget how to walk? We have six-year-olds visiting and it’s made me totally lose my grasp on spelling. Why isn’t “he’s” spelled “hese” when it rhymes with “these”? Why are choice, noise, and toys all so similar but also so different in such a similar way? Have I ever spelled before?
Thanks for being here, Arthur characters and existential spelling crisis and all. I hope you meet lots of different friendly people and animals this week.
Not to brag but i totally noticed today’s Arthurization.
I am not a hugger but I do tolerate them if one is inflicted upon me. My dog, Oliver, is like your McGee. He likes 4 people (probably only 2 people, but he tolerates the other 2). We don't take him to public places. He will bark, growl, lunge...you get it. At home? With his group he is an absolute cream puff - unless you try to touch his feet. We love him to pieces. He is also a great hug deterrent.
