Not to brag, but a day after this random teenage compliment, I got ANOTHER compliment from a different teenager, for a different outfit. I think I look pretty cool today, but so far no teenagers have said anything. Can’t win ‘em all.
Have you gotten any good compliments lately, from creatures of any age? We brought cookies to a friend’s for lunch last week and the four-year-old loved them, and I’m still sort of glowing from that. (You’d think four-year-olds wouldn’t discriminate, but they didn’t love some of the other desserts.) Here’s a video of Boaz making the cookies, possibly even the exact ones we brought. Boaz also seems to make really good hummingbird water, the birds rush over every time there’s a new batch. Were you a confident teenager, or do you give compliments to strangers now? What’s the earliest in the day you’d eat ice cream?
Thanks so much to everyone who subscribes, free and paid, it’s the nicest compliment in the world. If you’re not a subscriber but want to be you can click here:
I hope your week is really nice and that you wear an outfit you love.
My best compliment this week is my grown granddaughter dressed as ME for Halloween! A few days earlier, I was sitting outside, writing postcards to voters when a stranger walking by said "you look stunning sitting there with the sunlight on your hair." Wow, shocking. At 80, I rarely get complimented on my appearance or even noticed, frankly. I think I'm invisible to teens altogether.
I'm scared of teenagers too, and I live with two of them. And isn't ice cream basically just frozen and churned cereal milk? That makes it appropriate for breakfast.
