I sort of fixed our steps! I changed them, at least. I only bought about a quarter of the amount of concrete I needed, so they look a lot different from regular steps.
As the line between where my own thoughts end and the internet begins becomes harder and harder to see, I think it’s important to remember that it only took four YouTube videos to make me think that most people are fascinated by concrete. Human brains are very soft - much like freshly mixed concrete, which can take a full three days to fully cure, depending on the type of concrete and the weather conditions.
Do you ever think about someone you knew in high school who you forgot existed, and how wild it is that the entire time, this person was obviously waking up every day remembering they exist? All the years that went by without you thinking about Sam Dustman, and Sam was out there not only remembering Sam, but knowing what Sam ate, what books Sam read, what socks Sam wore, every single thought Sam had, day in day out. The world is just huge.
Here are some photos of Boaz’s garden:
I really don’t know much about it besides what the weeds look like, but you can read more about it in his Substack - he built his own set of steps last week and wrote a post about it:
I hope this week you’re able to try something you’re not sure if you can do, and that you’re able to make time for some nice talks with strangers in a busy place. Thanks for being here.
I think you've inspired me to try fixing our concrete steps! Or at least encouraging my husband to do it.
I often think about all the people I don't think about, if that makes sense. There are tons of people in my life that I know I'll never see again, but whom I wish well, and I like to think about them going about their days carrying my good wishes with them.
You made me laugh this morning, and I appreciate it! Good job on learning how to make steps. Sorry people only asked questions about the garden. :-)
