I think you've inspired me to try fixing our concrete steps! Or at least encouraging my husband to do it.
I often think about all the people I don't think about, if that makes sense. There are tons of people in my life that I know I'll never see again, but whom I wish well, and I like to think about them going about their days carrying my good wishes with them.
Yay! I did this exact same thing a couple of years ago and the step is still there!
Then I moved.
So, yay, again!
(This coming from a woman who did an ace bathroom tiling job in her twenties and only found out it wasn't after she left that relationship: result! Though, no more tiling for me...oops)
I loved reading this, and I feel really bad for not being interested in concrete, but I love your writing and drawing and photos, and this idea of our minds being soft like concrete. Such a strong analogy!

You made me laugh this morning, and I appreciate it! Good job on learning how to make steps. Sorry people only asked questions about the garden. :-)
Beautiful garden! AND amazing that you did the steps yourself!
Even though you're not totally done with the steps project, they're already looking a lot better! I think you have a knack for concrete work!
